You can request one on their website to have one mailed to you.
Alabama Civil Rights Trail
In February, the Alabama Tourism Department released a new and improved Civil Rights Trail App. The free app allows you to explore and learn about Alabama’s role in the Civil Rights Movement. Visit and explore destinations in key locations like landmarks, museums, trails, and public spaces. Learn about the people, places, and events that changed the course of history.
Mississippi Blues Trail
If you want to learn more about the history of blues or plan an itinerary for visiting the great state of Mississippi, this is the app to download. With timelines, maps, videos, and links to other resources, you’ll be able to immerse yourself in the rich history of the blues and where it began.
Virginia History Trails
If you know anything about history, you know Virginia holds a lot of history. This app will allow you to learn more about and explore iconic sites such as the Jamestown Settlement and Monticello, as well as lesser-known historic sites such as the Portsmouth Colored Community Library Museum and Woodlawn. The app also allows you to find places that may interest you based on categories such as Education, Immigration, Military, and Virginia’s Heritage Wineries.
GPSmyCity
Want to do your own self-guided tour in cities you are visiting, but still want to learn about where it is that you are? This is the app for you! There are over 1,000 cities featured in almost all of the 50 states, and you just have to download the city walk before you go, so you don’t even have to worry about whether you will have cellular service when you are out and about.
AllTrails
If you’re looking for some outdoor adventures, this app highlights hiking, mountain biking and running trails across the United States. Use the map to find trails near where you are, or enter a city in the search box to find trails wherever you plan to go. Click on the trails that interest you to find more information, like if the trail is dog-friendly, the length of the trail, what activities are allowed on the trail, and more. You can also read reviews from others who have completed the trails.
