You’re invited to soak it all in when you visit the historic town of Berkeley Springs in West Virginia, nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Ridge State Fish Hatchery – Open from 8am until 4pm daily, you can take your turn feeding the bass and trout when you visit. Feeding happens daily at 3:30pm.

Prospect Peak – Pull over to the side of the road and enjoy the beautiful views overlooking the Potomac and Great Cacapon Valleys. You can see 3 states (West Virginia, Maryland, and Pennsylvania) from this peak.

Go shopping! – You’ll find no shortage of shops in Berkeley Springs. From handmade items to antiques, West Virginia souvenirs to artwork, you will certainly find what you are looking for (and some things you didn’t know you wanted) while you are here.

Berkeley Springs State Park – Home to a mineral spring that has been used since Colonial times, the outdoor pool at Berkeley Springs State Park and Spa is filled with natural spring water. The pool is open to the public every day, except on Tuesdays, from Memorial Day through Labor Day, from noon until 5pm.

Triple C Outfitters – Take a guided trail ride on horseback through Cacapon Resort State Park. Each ride is 1 hour, and the experienced, friendly guides will make sure that everyone has an enjoyable time while taking in the beauty surrounding them on the trail.

Cacapon River Outfitters – Enjoy a relaxing 4-6 hour float down the Cacapon River in a tube. You’ll end at the Stoney Creek Country Store where you will take a shuttle back to the launch site.

The Bee Hive Cafe – If plant-based eating is what you’re looking for, you’ll find a fantastic menu full of delicious vegan and vegetarian meals here. The owner started this cafe after learning that honeybees work together for the health and well-being of the community, and she has applied that knowledge to how The Bee Hive Cafe operates, with many ways of giving back to the community.

Hillbilly Heaven Bar & Grill – Here you’ll find a laid back, easy going atmosphere with great food and cold beer. Hint: save room for the deep fried cheesecake for dessert!

Berkeley Springs Brewing Company – You’ll find this place to be warm and inviting, like gathering with old friends. Live music, dart boards, corn hole, and indoor and outdoor seating make this a place not just to stop and eat, but to stay and enjoy your time for awhile.

Coolfont Resort – We recommend staying in one of the Treetop Lodge Jacuzzi Lake View rooms. Complete with not only an in-room jacuzzi tub, but also a private balcony with views of the lake, making this room the perfect place for a romantic getaway. Mendenhall 1884 Inn – This is a great choice for a place to stay for a girls weekend getaway. Offering an afternoon tea, massage services and bike rentals, you’ll not only have fun, but feel relaxed while you’re here. This B&B is a nationally registered historic home and offers a convenient in-town location to make biking or walking through the beautiful mountain town an easy way to start your day.

One last tidbit of information: If you are planning a trip in the fall to enjoy the beatiful views with the changing leaves, plan your trip during the Berkeley Springs Studio Tour weekend. It happens only once a year for 2-days, but you’ll be fascinated to see the artists in their studios demonstrating their work during the free, self-guided driving tour to the various studios.
