Peter Pan Soars Again: A Fresh and Magical Broadway Adventure

Last night, I took my kids to see PETER PAN at the Eccles Theater in Salt Lake City, and it was a night to remember! This production is truly magical and brings a fresh take on the classic story we all know and love. From the opening scene, the show captivated us with impressive performances, stunning sets, and dazzling effects that transformed the stage into Neverland.

One of the biggest highlights for us was Raye Zaragoza as Tiger Lily. She brought so much power and authenticity to the role, balancing strength and grace in every scene. Her performance was inspiring, especially for young girls watching, and her voice was a real standout. Hawa Kamara’s Wendy was also a delight. She portrayed Wendy with a strong-willed, curious personality that was refreshing and empowering.

Cody Garcia’s Captain Hook stole the show with a wonderfully playful and yet menacing portrayal. He had the audience in stitches one moment and holding their breath the next. And of course, Nolan Almeida as Peter Pan was everything you’d want—mischievous, energetic, and endearing. His chemistry with the other characters made every scene memorable.

The CGI effects used during the flight scenes were a show-stopper. It felt like we were flying alongside Peter, Wendy, and the boys! The backgrounds were beautifully animated, adding depth and magic to the stage, and kept my kids on the edge of their seats.

This adaptation also brought in some thoughtful updates to the themes and costumes, adding a modern flair that felt meaningful without losing the essence of PETER PAN. The choreography was upbeat and fun, and the updated music added a fresh layer of excitement. It was easy for my kids (and me!) to get lost in the energy of each dance and song.

Overall, this PETER PAN feels like it was designed with today’s audience in mind, creating a magical experience that parents and children alike will love. I highly recommend catching this show while it’s in town!
