Monster Jam Is the Family Night Out Your Kids Will Talk About All Year!

As a mom, I’m always on the lookout for experiences that get my kids off screens, make real memories, and (bonus points) are actually fun for me too! If your kids are anything like mine, trucks + noise + excitement = instant YES. That’s exactly why I’m already marking my calendar for Monster Jam, roaring back into Salt Lake City January 2–4, 2026 at the Delta Center.

If you’ve never been to Monster Jam before, let me tell you, this isn’t just another kids’ event. It’s a full-blown, edge-of-your-seat experience that somehow manages to thrill kids, teens, and parents all at the same time.

Monster Jam is one of those rare events where your kids can be loud, cheer as hard as they want, and completely lose their minds… in the best way possible. We’re talking 12,000-pound trucks doing things that don’t seem physically possible: flying through the air, balancing on two wheels, racing full throttle, and pulling off jaw-dropping freestyle stunts.

From a mom’s perspective, it’s pure joy watching your kids’ faces light up when they see iconic trucks like Grave Digger, El Toro Loco, Megalodon, and Monster Mutt roll onto the dirt. These aren’t just trucks, they’re legends to kids who love anything with wheels and horsepower.

What really sets Monster Jam apart is how interactive it feels. The drivers are world-class athletes, men and women, who know how to put on a show, and fans actually get to help score the drivers live during the competitions. My kids loved feeling like they were part of the action, not just watching from the stands.

If you want to make the day extra special, I highly recommend adding the Monster Jam Pit Party. This happens before the event on Saturday and Sunday and lets kids:

  • See the trucks up close
  • Meet drivers and get autographs
  • Take photos that will definitely end up on your fridge

As a parent, I love experiences that slow things down for a moment and let kids really soak it all in, and the Pit Party does exactly that.

Monster Jam hits Salt Lake City right after the holidays, when kids are home from school and cabin fever is real. It’s the perfect way to kick off the new year with something exciting and memorable instead of another day stuck inside.

There are multiple showtimes across the weekend, making it easy to work around naps, sports, or family plans:

  • Friday night
  • Saturday afternoon or evening
  • Sunday early afternoon

Monster Jam is one of those events that sells fast, especially for good seats. Tickets are on sale now through SeatGeek, and prices are surprisingly family-friendly for such a big production  .

If you’re looking for a gift idea, a surprise outing, or just a way to create a core memory your kids will talk about nonstop, this is it.

Loud? Yes. Messy? Absolutely. Unforgettable? 100%.

Monster Jam is one of those rare family outings where everyone leaves happy, tired, and smiling. If your kids love trucks, action, or just doing something totally out of the ordinary, trust me, get the tickets. You won’t regret it!

I’ll see you there… probably with ear protection in my purse and a kid on each side cheering at the top of their lungs.
