If you’re looking for things to do in St. George Utah with kids that will actually wear your kids out (and still be fun for you), let me introduce you to one of our new favorite stops: Fossil Falls Park.
As a mom who’s always on the hunt for parks that go beyond the “basic playground,” this one completely surprised us, in the best way.

The first thing you’ll notice at Fossil Falls Park is how much there is to do.
This isn’t your average park. It has:
Everything is designed to keep kids moving, climbing, and exploring, which means less “I’m bored” and more “watch this, mom!”
Okay, let’s talk about the main event: the giant cement slide.
This thing is FAST. Like, hold-your-breath-and-laugh-scream fast.
It’s honestly one of the biggest highlights of the park, and not just for kids. Even teens (and let’s be real… parents too) can’t resist trying it.

Mom tip:
My kids went down once…and then about 20 more times.
And the best part? They have to climb back up the rock-style structure (designed to look like fossils), so they’re getting energy out the whole time.
One of my favorite parts, and something a lot of people miss, is the easy walk down to the river.
From the park, you can follow walking paths that lead toward the Virgin River. It’s an easy, kid-friendly walk and adds a whole second adventure to your visit.

We wandered down and found:
In warmer months, the river area becomes even more popular for splashing and playing.
This was the moment my kids slowed down just enough to explore, throw rocks, and actually take in the scenery.

Beyond the fun stuff, this park has all the things that make outings easier:
It’s the kind of place where you can easily spend an hour…or accidentally stay all afternoon.
1. Go early or later in the day
St. George heat is intense, and parts of the playground get full sun.
2. Bring water + snacks
Even with fountains, kids will burn through energy fast.
3. Use caution on the slide
It’s fun, but it’s fast. Stay close, especially with younger kids.
4. Plan time for the river walk
It turns a park visit into a mini adventure.
There are a lot of great things to do in St. George Utah with kids, but Fossil Falls Park stands out because it offers more than just a playground.
It’s:
This is one of those parks where memories just happen.
It’s the laughter coming off that giant slide, the little adventures down by the river, and the moment you realize your kids are completely happy, playing, and not asking for screens.
And honestly? That’s a win every single time.
