It’s all fun and games at Ticket To Play Board Game Cafe!

In Oregon’s capital city of Salem, there’s a perfect little place called Ticket To Play Board Game Cafe.

This locally-owned small business is an excellent blend of homemade food & tabletop fun. With a whole wall and a half full of games to choose from, plenty of seating, and a menu that has a little something for everyone (even your halflings!) there really is no reason to skip this hidden gem!

Games range in difficulty and are organized so that even your smallest members can find and play games to their liking & ability. Our family found a new favorite by renting games to bring home & trying them in the comfort of our own space. That’s right, this business not only allows a totally welcoming place to come and hang out (for a VERY affordable rate!), but they also offer game rentals and even have some for sale on-site if you find something you absolutely MUST have in your home collection.

While weekdays can be quiet with few players & your choice of seating, the evenings and weekends are definitely a different story! It can be tough to find a table if you arrive too late, so be prepared to use that rental service and take some games home to try.

The owners themselves are super friendly, and Nathan’s soups are renowned enough that I have actually seen people come *just* for dinner. Robyn is a savant at pairing a person with their perfect cup of tea. The menu offerings include everything from kombucha and alcohol to specialty sodas; classic grilled cheese to fancier wraps. The only thing you won’t find on the menu is coffee, so be sure to check in with Robyn about her giant selection of tea.

Things to note

• Totally family friendly, plenty of kids games/menu items, and a changing table in the restroom. 
• The parking lot is a shared situation, but even though it is on the smaller side we’ve never had a problem.
• Robyn (the owner) wants to know her customers. She remembers faces really well and will likely know if you have visited before or are a first-timer. 
• The food is SOOOO good! Its all homemade right there in the building (you can see–and smell–it happening) and the portions are quite generous. Pro-tip: Try the Pesto Chicken Wrap! 
• The prices are incredible!! Truly!
