DIY Floor Beds for Kids : Adventure at Home

I have tried toddler beds, bunk beds, regular beds, you name it! But they just filled the room and I felt like it was always heavy looking. I didn’t feel like bedrooms were inviting with heavy dark wood furniture so I began the search for new beds, again. Everything I was finding was a million dollars. So, I decided I would build beds that could go on the floor and not look so heavy and big. I wanted a light spacey looking room.

I needed a new fresh look for my kiddos room and FOUND IT! It took some time to build and paint the beds, but I am SO happy with the way they turned out! My kids LOVE them! Go to this cute gals website for the plans if you want to build some of your own!

A trip to home depot for some wood, screws, a kreg jig (a must have), paint, and sand paper, a few (or more than a few) hours later with a handy Mr. Dattage to help out and these beds turned out pretty dang cute!

After they were built, sanded, and painted, I got to get creative with all the little details! Watch for more posts on this cute room, everything in it is hand made from the curtains, to the bedspreads, to the teepee that you haven’t even seen yet!
