Discovering the Wonders of Miracle Hot Springs in Idaho

Nestled in the scenic landscape of Southern Idaho, Miracle Hot Springs has quickly become one of our favorite family getaway spots. As a mom of active kids, finding a destination that caters to relaxation as well as adventure is a true gem—and Miracle Hot Springs fits the bill perfectly!

Getting There

Located just a short drive from Twin Falls and about two hours from Boise, getting to Miracle Hot Springs is a breeze. We usually take I-84 and get off at exit 147 for Hagerman. From there, it’s just a 10-minute drive south on State Highway 30, a route that offers beautiful views of the Snake River Canyon and surrounding farmlands.

One of the most unique features of Miracle Hot Springs that always excites the kids is their resident alligator, named ’Alfie’. Located in a special geothermal heated enclosure, Alfie the alligator adds an unexpected but thrilling twist to our visits. It’s not every day you can say you’ve seen an alligator while soaking in hot springs! The staff at Miracle Hot Springs offers educational talks about Alfie, providing an informative and engaging experience for visitors. This encounter adds an educational layer to our trips, allowing the children to learn about alligators in a safe and controlled environment. Visiting Alfie has become a routine part of our trips to Miracle Hot Springs, making each visit memorable and uniquely enjoyable.

Hours and More

Miracle Hot Springs is open year-round, which is fantastic because the changing seasons bring new delights. Their hours vary slightly by season, but typically they are open from 9 AM to 10 or 11 PM. You can find more detailed information about the schedules and any planned events on their website at https://miraclehotsprings.com.

Activities for Everyone

What makes Miracle Hot Springs truly special are the natural thermal pools. With varying temperatures and sizes, you can always find the perfect spot that feels just right. My youngsters adore the warmer pools where they can splash around safely. For parental peace, I recommend booking one of the private pools, offering a serene and secure place for the family to unwind.

Besides the therapeutic hot springs, the area around Hagerman is filled with activities that can keep any family entertained. Just a short drive from the springs, you can explore the Hagerman Fossil Beds National Monument or take an exhilarating zipline adventure across the Snake River Canyon. For more low-key entertainment, we love visiting the nearby Thousand Springs State Park to enjoy hiking, picnicking, and breathtaking views of cascading waterfalls.

The Full Experience

Ending our day at Miracle Hot Springs with a relaxed dinner as we watch the sunset painting colors across the Idaho sky is always magical. The facility also offers accommodations and camping options, which means we can turn our day trips into delightful weekends away.

Whether winter’s chill or summer’s gleam, a trip to Southern Idaho’s Miracle Hot Springs promises a refreshing blend of adventure, relaxation, and family fun that keeps us coming back year after year. Join us, and create lasting memories in the soothing embrace of Idaho’s natural beauty!
