Known for it’s luxury resorts, golf courses and sandy beaches, Amelia Island is a great choice if you are looking for a tranquil vacation destination. But if you’re looking for more than sunshine and relaxation, Amelia Island offers some great adventures to explore, too.
Fort Clinch State Park – You’ll find plenty of shade thanks to the thick tree canopy draped with Spanish moss. There are a variety of activities to do including fishing, beach combing and camping, as well as seeing lots of wildlife. Both sea turtles and a variety of birds find the island, and this park in particular, for resting and nesting. Those interested in history find Fort Clinch and the Amelia Island Lighthouse of particular interest.
Amelia Island Ghost Tours – Experience a tour you will not forget! Led by a guide through the historic streets of Amelia Island, you will learn about the history and legends of the island. There is paranormal activity recorded almost every night, so be sure to bring your camera.
Backwater Cat Adventure – We recommend the 2.5 hour tour. During your Backwater Boat tour, you will see beautiful scenery, sea life and wildlife. You will be taught how to operate your own boat and then will take off on a tour of the marshlands, a brief stop at Cumberland Island to see the wild ponies and then to historic Fort Clinch before heading back down the Amelia River to where the tour started.
Anglers Mark Fishing Charter – The Anglers Mark is a safe and comfortable 22’ bay boat with a safe platform to fish from. All the bait, tackle, flies, rods, reels and fishing licenses and a cooler of ice waters are provided. This is a fun and relaxing way to fish Amelia Island in north Florida. All you really need is a hat and sunglasses, step on the boat and go fishing!
Rejen Retreats Bike Tours – 2-hour bike tours that offer a variety of locations to explore Amelia Island: Historic Downtown Fernandina, Egan’s Creek Greenway, Fort Clinch State Park, The Beach (at low tide), Amelia Island Bike Trail, and Talbot Island State Parks.
Florida Adventure Sports – If you are looking for a fun and amazing aerial adventure, then this is the stop for you. These powered hang gliding lessons will have you talking about your experience for years to come. A birds-eye view of this breathtaking landscape includes the winding rivers, forests, marshes and the beautiful beaches that are the calling card of The Sunshine State.
Courtyard Amelia Island – Opening May 2021! The hotel is at the northern tip of Amelia Island and the hotel rooms include features such as balconies, feature plush bedding and breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean. Guests will enjoy complimentary Wi-Fi throughout the hotel, and access to their well-equipped fitness center with a Peloton bike. At the center of the state-of-the-art lobby, is The Bistro, your destination for a filling breakfast, as well as dinner with drinks to follow.
The Villas of Amelia Island – Experience luxurious amenities with exceptional service! At The Villas of Amelia Island, there are countless ways to spend your days.
