Choose Your Adventure: Bowling Green, KY

Adventures await in Bowling Green, Kentucky, where their motto is “Geared for Fun”. No matter what kind of adventure you’re looking for, you are sure to find it in Bowling Green.

National Corvette Museum – The museum, a non-profit organization, opened in 1993 as a way to educate the public about the corvette and preserve its past, present, and future. Audio tours can be downloaded or streamed to your device for an enhanced experience when you visit. Also, one not-to-miss, unique area of the museum is the Corvette Cave-in exhibit, which gives you an inside look at the museum’s sinkhole that made national news in 2014.

Artistic Soul Studio – A must-see hidden gem for movie buffs, the Artistic Soul Studio features over 1500 movie items, vintage and modern original art, original movie materials and other unique memorabilia. Right now, it is open by appointment only, but you can always visit the Etsy shop online HERE.

Mammoth Cave National Park – There are over 400 miles of known passageways in this, the world’s longest known cave system. It’s the 2nd oldest tourist attraction in the United States (Plymouth Rock being the oldest). In addition to the variety of underground cave tours offered, the park also is a great place for biking, hiking, canoeing, fishing, and more!

Reid’s Livery & Winery – Not your normal winery! After a wine tasting of the delicious berry & grape wines, completely grown right there on the farm, feel free to take a walk around the farm to see their many animal friends, including dogs, cats, chickens, turkeys and horses. They have won over 200 international medals and the Kentucky Commissioner Cup three times for the best wine in the state!

Lost River Cave – Take a boat ride through the cave, a natural wonder in Bowling Green, and your tour guide will educate you about the history of the cave including stories about the underground nightclub in the 1930’s and a hideout for Jesse James. Make sure to wear sturdy shoes, as the tour begins with a 20-minute guided walk down to the cave entrance. The area also offers 2-miles of walking trails, a butterfly habitat, zip lining and more.

Vertical eXcape Climbing Center – Enjoy some indoor rock climbing at this exciting climbing center with over 10,000 square feet and 4 types of climbing: Bouldering, Top-Roping, Auto-Belay, and Sport Climbing. Climbing is a great activity for all ages!

Bowling Green KOA – If you’re looking for a bit more adventure, look no further. With amenities like night fishing, hiking, a playground and paddle boat races, whether you have an RV, a tent or would like to rent one of their cabins, you’ll find this to be an exciting place to have even more fun.

Holiday Inn University Plaza – Newly renovated and pet-friendly, this hotel is in close proximity to many of the local attractions listed above. It also has an indoor heated pool, complimentary WiFi and an on-site cafe open for all 3 meals.

Boyce General Store – You’ll be welcomed with good ol’ southern hospitality as soon as you walk through the door, as well as the smell of some great food (I recommend the fried catfish & hush puppies), and save room for dessert, because the Pie Queen makes everything from scratch, so you’re in for a real treat!

Chaney’s Dairy Barn – USA Today named this the best ice cream parlor in Kentucky, but it also offers a vast lunch and dinner menu consisting of burgers, salads, sandwiches, homemade soups and more. After eating, take a self-guided farm tour where you can see the Lely Astronaut Robotic Milker in action and play on the playground with a giant inflatable jumping pillow.
