What is a State Ambassador?
As a State Ambassador, you get to write about what makes your state unique. What can you share with someone who is visiting for the first time? Highlight the big tourist sites, but also the small, hidden gems that they may not otherwise know about. You can receive free tickets to museums and shows, get invited to preview new attractions, and share your experiences through written reviews that are published to Adventures in the US.
In addition, State Ambassadors can earn commissions on advertising, and may be offered free or discounted travel opportunities.
You get to make your own hours, and all that is required by Adventures in the US is that you write a minimum of two articles each month. You don’t even need to worry about maintaining a website – we do that!
What are some places that State Ambassadors have visited & reviewed?
Who is Jennifer, and how did Adventures in the US begin?
I am Jennifer, the Founder of Adventures in the US. I have been attending shows and media events, visiting different places and sharing fun things for families to do for almost as long as my 13-year-old son has been on this earth. It was something I enjoyed immensely, especially since it was something that not only could I do from home, allowing me to be a stay-at-home mom and be present for my kids, but it also gave me something that was mine. I love my family, and this escape gave me exactly what I needed to keep a balance between being a mom and wife, and being Jen. The best part was that it was a career I was able to start as a hobby and grow into something that helped to provide for our family. It was perfect.
Then the company I worked for was bought, and A LOT of changes were made. My family had grown out of wanting tickets to things like Paw Patrol and The Wiggles, so I wasn’t getting as much out of it as I once had anyway, but it was something I never thought I’d give up. Then one day, the decision was made for me, and I had to decide what my next step was. Turns out, it was a huge blessing, because I never would have jumped ship without a push.
I took the good and the bad from my 13 years of experience and made a plan for how I could help others have what I had, but based on travel and adventure rather than local things for kids. My family and I enjoy traveling. We have a fifth-wheel camper, I’ve visited 31 of the 50 states (with a road trip to visit 5 more in 2024!), and we enjoy going new places, trying new things, and sharing that with friends, family, and frankly, complete strangers, too.
I’ve talked to countless people over the years, and some of my favorite conversations have been about travel. It’s how we learned that on our road trip to see Mount Rushmore, we just had to stop at the Corn Palace and Wall Drug. It’s why if I know someone going to St. Augustine, I recommend the St. Augustine Alligator Farm as a must-stop location. And I’ve realized, I want to create something that takes my love of travel and finding new places to visit and things to do, and combine it with my desire to create an opportunity where others can do what they love, outside the constraints of a “normal” job.
Whether you are interested in a way of making money doing what you love, with the people that mean the most to you, or you are just interested in this as a hobby, we would love for you to complete the application below to learn more about how you can become a State Ambassador!
