If your kids are anything like mine, dinosaurs never go out of style.
I don’t care how old they get. There is something about giant prehistoric creatures that captures their imagination every single time.
That’s why the George S. Eccles Dinosaur Park and Museum in Ogden is one of my favorite family destinations in Utah. And if you have a GetOut membership, it gets even better because admission is included, making this one of the best family deals you’ll find all summer. (Ps. Use code GWENDOLYN for an even better discount on your Get Out membership!)
As a mom, I love finding activities that feel educational without my kids realizing they’re learning. This place does exactly that.
The moment you walk in, it feels like you’ve stepped into another world.

What surprised me most about the Ogden Dinosaur Museum is how much there is to do.
This is not a small room full of fossils where you’re finished in twenty minutes.
The park features an extensive outdoor dinosaur sculpture park, indoor museum exhibits, fossil displays, a paleontology lab, natural history exhibits, gem and mineral displays, hands on learning opportunities, and a dinosaur themed playground that kids absolutely love.
My kids immediately took off trying to spot every dinosaur they could find.
And there are a lot of them.
The park features more than 100 dinosaur exhibits and realistic dinosaur replicas throughout the grounds. Some include robotics and sound effects that help bring these prehistoric giants to life.

If your child knows the difference between a Triceratops and a Stegosaurus, they’ll be in heaven.
If they don’t know the difference yet, they probably will by the time you leave.
Kids can walk among giant dinosaurs, explore exhibits about prehistoric life, see real fossils, learn about paleontology, and experience hands on discovery opportunities throughout the museum.
One of the highlights is the museum itself, which takes visitors through the history of life on Earth and showcases dinosaur skeletons, fossils, recreated habitats, and interactive exhibits.

Let’s be honest.
Sometimes kids need a break from learning and just want to play.
The dinosaur themed playground is fantastic and gives children a chance to climb, run, explore, and burn off energy before heading back into the exhibits.
For families with children of different ages, this is especially helpful because everyone can find something they enjoy.

One thing I appreciate is that the park’s trails are paved, stroller friendly, and ADA accessible. That makes it much easier for grandparents, younger children, and anyone needing a more accessible experience.
Whether you’re planning a family day trip, hosting visiting relatives, entertaining grandkids, or simply looking for something fun to do in Northern Utah, this is an easy recommendation.
Here’s the best part.
If you have a GetOut membership, admission to the Ogden Dinosaur Museum is included. Use the code GWENDOLYN when you purchase your Get Out Membership and it will be even cheaper!
As parents, we’re always trying to find activities that create great memories without constantly stretching the family budget. This is one of those experiences that delivers tremendous value, especially when admission is already covered through your pass.
For families who regularly use their GetOut membership, this is absolutely one attraction you should not overlook.
The George S. Eccles Dinosaur Park is located at:
1544 East Park Boulevard
Ogden, Utah 84401
Hours are:
The park features 8.5 acres of outdoor exhibits along with indoor museum attractions, making it a great option for a half day family adventure.
In a world full of screens, apps, and endless distractions, there is something special about spending an afternoon exploring giant dinosaurs, discovering fossils, and watching your kids get excited about science.
The Ogden Dinosaur Museum doesn’t just entertain children. It sparks curiosity. And honestly, that’s one of the best souvenirs a family outing can bring home.
